Hello!

I was hoping I could receive some feedback on what kind of lenses I should pack for Vietnam.

I have a 5d Mark 2 with a 135 f2, 24-70 2.8, and a 50 1.4. My bag only allows me to carry two of the three lenses.

Which two would you bring? I love shooting everything from portrait to landscape. I am leaning towards the 135 + 24-70 combo. However, the 24-70 is such a beast to carry around all day.

Regards

If you ABSOLUTELY could not bring all three, I would leave the 135.

24-70 for versatility and wide angle shots and 50 for low light. But, I would rather try and find a way to bring them all.

Thanks Arteel.

I have a lowepro slingshot 100 and it can barely fit the 24-70 attached to the body and one of the lenses in the top pocket.

I would leave the 50 at home but that thing is tiny. Just bring all 3.

Yes, it is a bit ambitious; however, I will be traveling by plane for most of my connections. I think 2-3 days each city is ample amount of time.

Have fun on your trip. I was there last October and it was great. My combo was the 24-105, 70-200 f/4 IS & 50 1.4. The telephoto was awesome for street portraits especially up in the northern Vietnam areas of Sapa and Bac Ha. If you're able to, try and visit Bac Ha on Sunday. The colors there will amaze you. Check out my SE Asia set in my Flickr collection.

Winning!

If you take one great shot with the lens you were planning to leave at home, the weight and bother of carrying it becomes utterly worth it.
