Hello every one
I am thinking about to take portrait photo for all family member.
I will use t3i with 50mm / 1.8; I have 430EX and 33” umbrella kit come with 3 umbrellas White, Gold, and Silver.
I think about to order 2 YN-560 speedlite with Qbox 24
Help me to config how to make all 3 light work together
430EX main light
YN-560 = for Umbrella
YN-560 = Qbox 24
Do they work together?
T3i build in wireless
Do I need wireless trigger for YN-560?
Please give me some advice or give me some Idea for better way to get it done but low cost.

Thnks

How many people will you be lighting? Are we talking torso shots here or full length? That's going to determine what your key light should be.
I was reading on your YN-560, looks like it has a built in slave. Check your owners manual to figure out how to use it.

I did not order YN-560 yet.

For single or couple, use the softbox as key, a reflector for fill, a bare flash from high and behind as a hair light (will need a grid or snoot to prevent lens flare) and the third flash as an accent, maybe to paint a gradient along a bare wall or something.

For the 4 people, I would give the softbox a try as key with the umbrella as a backup plan. You might like the results. You're going to have to feather it in a manner that it's aimed more towards the person furthest away from it. You could use the umbrella behind and above you as fill, the third light as accent or hair light. I think 4 people might be doable with the softbox as long as we're talking torsos, and they're in relatively tight to one another. If you have two white walls to work with, you can work in the corner so the perpendicular wall acts as a reflector.

It appears as though your flashes have a built in optical slave. I don't know wether it will work with the Rebel's built in wireless, but the 430 will, which in turn will trigger the other two strobes, so you're good there. I can't be much help above and beyond this as I don't know jack about your YN 560, and there seems to be a lack of support for it on the Internet, or I'm not searching hard enough. Check out your owners manual. It says it has two wireless modes, S1 and S2. Figure out how to put them in wireless mode, pop the 430 flash with your T3i and see if they fire.

Here, this may help a little:

These 3 flashes will not work together very easily. Your T3i pop-up flash can control the 430EX in ETTL or Manual mode, but it uses coded light pulses to do this wirelessly. These light pulses will confuse the optical slave mode on the YN-560's.

You could switch the pop-up flash to manual mode, and the YN-560's will then work, but then the 430EX will not work as a slave.

One simple solution is to add a simple $16 optical slave for the 430EX. You will also need something like this $11 hotshoe to connect the optical slave to the flash. Then use the pop-up flash in manual mode to trigger all 3 flashes as simple optical slaves.

Yes it will work, but you will need a total of 4 transceivers and will be manual flash only. (no ETTL)

You mean if I use YN-560 with Cactus V5 trigger no way I can Use 430EX at ETTL mode.

I need to have 4 transceivers( 1 set for receiver and 3 set for transceivers)is that right?

all 3 speedlite must set at manual mode.

I want to use 430EX to be the camera light
1 YN-560 for Umbrella
1 YN-560 for softbox or background light.

if Catus V5 receiver on camera the 430EX not work at EttL but I work at manual.

Sorry i got confuse.
looking for some best way for low budget

I could light a 4 people group shot with 60" umbrella and 580exII. I would use a reflector as a fill. I pretty sure u can do it with a 430 with no problems

Check some of my threads. I use 430EXII, 2 YN 560s. I find the YN560 to be bit more powerful than the430EXII. I have it in a QBOX24 as key. I use the 430EXII as fill in a Steve Kaeser unbrella box. I use the other YN560 with a 43" shoot through as hair light. The key & fill are in manual mode.

Currently, I have one RF-602 transmitter & 2 RF-602 recievers. I use the recievers to control the key & fill. The YN560 hair light is set to slave S1, and it fires when it sees a flash from the key & fill. I am finding that it misses sometimes. So, I am ordering another RF-602 reciver for the hair light.
