Canon 28-70 f/2.8 lens - $275

Do you guys see a lot of scamming going on with Craigslist?

Where I am I either see nothing, something that's way over priced, or something too good to be true.

This is what I have noticed

1. Most of the time - way over priced

2. Selling 500mm f4 IS in $2500 or 5D II for $900 and so on = scammers

3. Below market prices by some real people = send an e-mail and they will tell you how someone else is offering more

4. Below market prices by some real people = No answer

5. Below market prices by some real people = you have to be on CL 24h to get the real deals.

All in all waste of time!

I think the person might have meant $1275 in this case.
I live close by, but was unable to contact them.

$275 makes more sense than $1275. You're lucky if you can get over $900 for the 28-70L anymore

Reference to #5 I have found the craigsnotifica APP for Android phones to work really well. You set the parameters: keywords, which categories to search and which areas to search. It will either automatically search for you, or you can do it manually. It allows you to email the seller as well.

The last couple good deals I got on CL I got using this app.

I traded text messages with the seller last night. Lens was already sold, but we had a good exchange about some of the other items he was selling.

Can't say for sure since I didn't end up buying anything; but he knew specifics about the products he was selling and didn't try and lead me on about the items that had already sold.
