Hi,

I have 3 speedotron blackline lights, a powerpack, cables, reflectors, grids, stands, umbrellas, etc. Right now, I have them in separate cases and am looking at some alternatives. Anyone have suggestions on a rolling case that would fit all that gear?

You can try the largest tamrac rolling studio, however it can be too heavy to lift with all your stuff, the case itself is over 20 lbs.

Thats a good point. I may wind up just trying to find something to carry everything except the power pack and use the Speedo AIr case I use for it today. At least that would get all the other stuff in one place.

This one may be worth considering:

Thanks. That one looks like a very good case.

Anyone used this one? http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_Poly_Case_on_Wheels.html (external link)

I have a Pelican 1654 that fits a 1205 pack, 400w/s pack, 5 202vf heads, 5 cables, and the sync cables and other misc parts needed for the lights. The downside is that according to the websites everything weighs about 125lbs.

Those look great. I will look into those. I have been keeping an eye out for a good 2ns speedo power pack on the used market so something that can carry 2 of them is a good idea. I know it will be heavy, but that's part of the tradeoff.

PELICAN CASES are Da' Bomb-diggity.....
I use to have a 1650 for my Speedo Explorer 1500, Speedo 1205CX and 805 along with 6 heads. I convinced a friend to get the 1610 for her Speedo 805 with 4 heads. But since I've sold me Speedo gear, I now have three 1610's (1 for my Camera Gear and the other 2 for my Lighting Gear).....
Pictured here is one of my Lighting Gear Cases that include 4 Photogenic 1250DR's and 4 PCB Mini Lithiums. The other has 2 more Photogenic 1250DR's and 2 Photogenic 2500DR's along with the reflectors and some grids and colored gels.....

^ Sorry to be random, but how do you like those vagabond minis?

I have a contico case. It was made mostly for hardware, but I can fit either 2 dynalite 1000ws packs, 4x 2040 head, and a 4040 with all cables, extension cord, grids, a reflector. Instead of another pack and only 2 2040s with the 4040 I can add my xp1100.

I use 3 Think Tank rollerbags.

  • Think Tank Logistics
  • Think Tank Airport Security 2.0
  • Think Tank Airport Airstream

The Logistics (on the far left) is the largest which probably would suite your needs best.

These bags are made for hauling around, they are super well made and the wheels are exceptional. Much better then you see on pelican case mentioned here, and lowepros rolling bags.

It's also more organizable compared to Pelican and Tamrac, if it's big enough i can highly recommend it.

I love the TT bags. I have the UD60, Airport Security 2.0, Streetwalker HD, and Streetwalker pro. The logistics manager has been interesting to me since they launched it. It's just a bit pricey, but I know TT stuff is well made.

Do you have images of those bags packed with lighting gear? Don't go make them, but if you have them I would love to see it.

Been looking more at the pelican rolling cases. Which one would you suggest for 3 heads, a 1205 pack, cords, and 3 light stands? I want one big enough but nor overkill.

I have been looking at rhe ones listed here and i think they would be great if I decide to pick up a 2nd power pack and possibly another head or 2. Just looking at options if I decided to stick to the speedo set I have now.
