Ok I think we can make a exception.

Rule 5) only shoot RAW at a planned organized paid gig

This is how it begins to crumble. You will be shooting RAW in no time ;)

Wow just found out my best friend from 3 years ago. We did everything together and just played all day. I havnt seen him 3 years cause we moved to california but found out he was arrested for smoking pot and drinking and he's only 17 :(

Why shoot jpeg?

When I take multi-shot HDR shots with my NEX-3, it disables RAW. That doesn't keep me from shooting in that mode. It actually does a fine job with the proper settings.

Gitzo. Two inches isn't going to make a difference. Besides, most landscape shooters never shoot their tripods at full height.

what do you mean? Gitzo is cheaper and taller :D so yeah its more money for the price :D and yes almost all the time I am shooting it down low hehe I love to get down;)

jdizzle wrote in post #12637995 (external link)
Yeah, Steven's still dreaming about touching carbon fiber.

ohhh yes!! ahahaha

vipergts831 wrote in post #12638006 (external link)
When i spoke to Julian months ago about filters and the such i made a massive search on tripods. Back then i was being modest on my expense and needs. It might have changed now but this is what im getting. Until i start looking higher up

Gitzo GT3330
Markins Q-Ball Q10 with Lever Quickshoe (Lever Quick Shoe)
LEE Filters Foundation Kit (Standard 4x4", 4x6" Filter Holder)
(Requires Adapter Ring)
LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 77mm - for Wide Angle Lenses
LEE Filters 4x6" Graduated ND Resin Filter Set

Thats what is left on my purchase list to get. On it used to be a 580 exII, Sigmalux, Printer, Macro or extension tubes, ST-E2, etc. So ive knocked a bunch of it. Oh and no color checker on that list

hahaha hey on my list, I only have the Markins Q10 left and 16-35mm... in fact the 70-200mm VRII and Gitoz 3541LS is not on my original list. and except for the Big stopper and reverse GND, all Lee Filters have been ordered, some have arrived :D

Dude i didnt even know! I was at the Yankee game last Tuesday celebrating my cousins bday. Nick emailed me the deal. I couldn't get it to go through on my phone so he sent me a link with it in the cart. After that it was smooth sailing. Im sending in the rebate today. For $50 bucks it cant be beat.

Yeah i have to see if Gitzo offers a step up from that model i posted.

yes get the same model as I am looking... GT-3541LS, unless you only want 3 folds. folded length is 4" difference for the 3 series

Steven how much is that model you mentioned?

from ebay its $749 free shipping to me...
B&H, Naturescapes and the rests seems to be selling it for $799

I still can't get over the RRS tripods though

here's something that really looks good :D TVC-24L(18KG) + BH-40 (18kg) max height of 66inches (without ballhead)= $1,280
http://reallyrightstuff.com …-BH-40-LR-Ballhead&key=it (external link)

while the Gitzo 3541LS(18kg) + Markins Q10 (45kg) max height of 58inches (without ballhead) is about $200 cheaper and looks stronger but shorter.

Thats above my tolerance level for a tripod  I wont use it much so im not interested in spending to that degree. Thats why im looking at around the 500 range becuase it would sit at home so often. Except when i travel i would take it with me for some shots. Decisions decisions lol

hehe if you are going for around $500, I think even Feisol + Markins Q10 is already out of your range..

the Q10 alone is $370:lol: and the Feisol is about $300 if no Rapid system, and $400 with the rapid system = $770.
GItzo is just $300 more..for a one time purchase its a no brainer for me to just get Gitzo:lol:

if you want a small gitzo, then yes there's the traveller series 1541/1531/1542 series but they are still at the $600 range  compact though

come to think of it, the 190cxpro like the one Harm or have Feisol 3442 probably fits in your budget... but with the Markins Q3T its going to be around $600 :D
