Medium format cameras are fun to play with, but really, your current tools are very adequate, as shown by your stellar work.

hey be careful...his head might Swell

You don't need amazing AF at that focal length, just manual focus it :)

hahaha I agree.. :p

for my usual shots, I really don't need AF since I shoot landscapes

as far as I know is that the strobes will open longer and earlier :)

but I am not familiar with the details hehe that's actually one thing i want to explore when I decide to buy the SB-900

as they say I am a fanboy of the SB-900 but to be honest, I have never seen nor held it haha

I think I've confused you.. Your camera has a focal plane shutter, which has a limited sync speed with strobes.

I had an SB900 once, I dropped it off the side of a mountain. Look up Chimney Tops GSMNP

one thing I hate thinking about this purchase is that I might soon find my Tamron 28-75mm lacking in the AF department  then I will want the phenomenal 24-70mm  another expense

oh you know that's coming next :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Alex you would need another 70-200 that you wouldn't use, that would drive Steven nuts, hey where is Steven tonight ?

I will simply use Steven's!

Don't worry, my 70-200 will get its time. My old 70-200 was my second most used lens (after the 17-55) among all the lenses I have. :)

Speaking of my 17-55, I got it back today from Canon (service center in Irvine -- I'm so darn lucky to live right here, hehe). They repaired the IS unit, replaced the main circuit board, and cleaned it out, and I get 6 months warranty, neat-o!

In the meantime (for almost two weeks), I was stuck using the 50 and 100, and I remembered the joy of using primes. And now more than ever, I really, really, really want a 24L and 35L! :(

Yeah but you have a studio and access to models. It's fitting that the 70-200 is your most used lens!

I do have access to gym-nut Paul in his mesh shirt, if you guys want to see...

Yes, sadly, I've had nothing to shoot that requires the 70-200. Maybe if I go creepy stalker mode, that should do it.

I have a bunch of unprocessed food photos from the past month. I've been lazy about working on pics, though. Not really "feeling it" right now.
