My first picture posted here.
Taken on an EOS500D with 15-85 efs lens on my knees. 1/250 at 5.6. Rotated a bit wonky horizon), cropped a bit because of the rotation and sharpened a little.

I can't tell for sure if the poppy is tack sharp or not ... if so, this is a wonderful shot. I think what sets it appart is how the flower is facing the expanse of the water in a seemingly thoughtful pose. Nice.

deep greens and blues are the colors I choose ...

Thanks, it looks sharp to me on the raw file. At first I was disappointed the poppy was facing the other way, I couldnt get a picture facing it because of the lack of background but when I got it on the screen at home I was delighted. I particularly like the vibrant red as it was quite a dull day with flat grey skies.

Thats a lovely shot, I like that the red is giving some color to that dull background, very nice! Only wish that the weed on the side wasnt there, hey but thats just me!

Yeah I know that weed should have been pulled! My late father-in-law used to say "a weed is just a flower in the wrong place"

Still a good shot, although my focus is on the weed aswell as the poppy, have you tried to photoshop it out?

The grass isn't greener on the other side, it's green where you water it.

I love seeing a poppy in such an unexpected place!
