I use these and they are very clear and crisp.

I just sent the 8x42s back to B&H - not because there were any problems, but because I decided to go with the 10x42s. I received them yesterday and I am now satisfied as I wanted more magnification. I also have Nikon's ATB 8x40s, too, but the porro designs are pretty big and heavy, but good for sporting events in addition to wildlife viewing.

Btw, how did you create that link (clik) you have below? I'd like to do that without having a long link.

Thanks...Al

Once you post in the link using the [Insert link] button in the post editing toolbar it will highlight a portion of your inserted link, simply change the text in that highlighted portion......

They are crazy expensive but the difference is immediately noticeable when you pick up a pair of Zeiss, Leica or Swarovski binoculars. The detail rendering and image acuity is just that much better than even the very best from Canon, Nikon, Pentax, etc. The latter ones do make some good bins but they are simply nowhere near the former. But then again, they are CRAZY expensive.

I got a hefty American Express Gift card when I retired from my corporate job of 27 years and decided to apply it toward a pair of Zeiss bins and wow do they blow away my top of the line Pentax ones!

I'm a big fan of the Wingspan Optics Eaglescout for beginner's or those looking to spend under $100. 10x magnification and 1000 yard view, plus they're super lightweight. For some other others a different price points this is a good resource: https://hobbyhelp.com/bird-watching/binoculars/ (external link)
