What's the difference

Hi all,

I have a Canon Pixma ip4700 and am looking to buy some replacement inks. Is there a difference between Us inks and the ones we buy here. There appears to be a different model number...Australia = 521, 520. Us = 221,220.

I can buy them from the US for less than half the price in Aust.

I would assume they are the same but just want to be sure.

I don't know if its helpful in any way, I never looked deeper into the issue, but that's what happened to me. We moved to Spain from Us and I went to buy cartridges for my US printer. I believe it was HP 6300, so the cartridges even had the same numbers in them. Here is the problem, my printer wouldn't recognize them as genuine HP cartridges!!! I tried everything and it just wouldn't work together. So I spend almost 100 euro on nothing. Since I was under time pressure I end up buying new printer quickly. So make sure before you buy

Anyone else had a similar experience to angelika76, specifically with Canon?
