Tried something different during my last shoot in desert to bring more of the environment in to the picture and still retaining her as the subject.

Shot with 580EXII in 28inch softbox around 1/8 power.
5D MKII & 35mm
1/160 sec, f/3.2, ISO: 100

Very nice balance between model and dunes. I appreciate reading how you handled the potentially difficult lighting.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

On the lighting part i kept it simple with one light set up and using the ambient to bring the environment in. I used the soft box and secured it with digging the base of the stand in sand and then being in reach, did took lots of falls due to wind but no losses and well the wind did help alot in this shoot.

I cant beleive the light even registered at iso 100 w/ 1/8th power and F3.2, let alone lit her against a desert bright blue sky.

The patterns in the sand with her hair blowing and pose are just awesome!
