OS is sigmas version of IS...so image stabilization...i guess they call it optical stabilization(just a guess)

there's a newer sigma 50-500OS that sells for $1600...the older version used however is quite a good deal for those looking to get to 500mm without dropping a lot of cash...only real downside is the lack of stabilization...but people dealt with that before so i'm sure you can figure it out :)

I figured that but wasn't sure. I'll probably bite the bullet and pick this lens up. I'm always kicking myself in the ass when I go to my nephews sporting events and can never zoom in enough.
