The Black Angels - April 17th, 2011

I had the opportunity to see The Black Angels - psychadelic rock band from Texas - when they came to The Historic Southgate House in Newport, KY. It's a very old venue where the Tommy Gun was invented. The main hall is pretty large and the acoustics are great! Unfortunately, the lighting is always horrible.. no matter who is playing. The cool thing is, they could care less if you bring in a dslr. So I love seeing any concert there.

I was double-plagued, however because my 40D was in the shop and all I had was the XSi. With the Sigma 50mm f/1.4, though, I was able to manage a few shots, though most were just not sharp enough (having to shoot at 1/40, 1/30, f/1.4, ISO400-1600). Was still happy with a couple of the shots...
