Deer with Velvet Antlers

Went down to the OBX with my wife for our anniversary and as we pulled into the parking area right in the field next to where we lived sat a couple of deer but these are the best of the pictures that i snapped...for almost the entire time I was there both deer (other not shown (female)) looked directly at me but for about 20 seconds this young fella looked away and I thought there was something about the shots that worked...I was only about 75 feet away and they knew I was right there....other cars kept stopping and gawking too...at closest I probably got about 50 feet and even though they didn't seem to mind I didn't want to end up spooking them and have them run out into traffic.

Oh and as you can see from the shots, lighting was a challenge as he was in the shadows.
And the things on his antlers are ticks.
