the wildlife and architecture galleries have a different gallery/photo setup than the landscape and candids.

also, and i dont know if you built the website yourself, the PORTFOLIO link at the bottom of the page does not take you back to the portfolio page that has the 4 thumbnails and 4 gallery options. if you click the portfolio link for the first time it takes you there but once you start viewing the galleries, you are unable to click the PORTFOLIO link to take you back. i do see the BACK TO PORTFOLIO link which does take you back to the portfolio page, but the PORTFOLIO link at the bottom should accomplish that. it doesnt and it threw me off.

i personally think you should not have a "comments" section unless its a blog. i also agree about not stating what gear you have or "please visit cause i upload often."

i usually dont like flash sites because they are bloaty, but your site loads superfast. to me its one of the fastest flash sites. i'll assume the file size of the images are small.

lastly, i like how fast the messages get sent and how it tells you that the message got sent. that is brilliant, i hate sending a message and waiting seconds for the message to go through.

I changed the two designs on the portfolio page as a test to see which style people like more. So far the ones with larger rpeviews have been getting the most votes, I just haven't changed the other two yet, should take just a minute. I will take a look at the button issues, thanks for the heads up.

Later this year when I. Start to do this more than part time, I think I am going to do a smug mug account and get a smug mug designer and go that route.

i would look into wordpress, it takes a few hours to get used to it , but most of the themes use css and html 5, barley any use flash, some even come with mobile themes.
everyone has said it already.
the music is meh, the flash is meh, the layout is simple, simple can be nice, but you can throw a rock and hit 100 photogs pages that look exactly like this layout with diffrent colors, and music.
i would go for something a little more unique.

looking at your page i wouldnt know what to hire you for.

i would remove the list of your gear, customer has no clue what it is, and talk about your self
( i still need do my about me section)
based on your website i wouldn't hire you for a family portrait , or any portrait
but i would buy a nice landscape photo if i was into that sort of thing.
half of the candids is of the fire department, and a dog.
if you are using this as your business website i would re organize your photos,
i would do children photos, landscape and wildlife, and pets,
based on the photos you have up there.
i would remove the architecture and the fire department, maybe open up a separate blog and have it linked to it, there you can put the other photos that aren't going bring you in business.

*disclamer because people tend to get hurt feelings when i give CC*
i am in no way attacking you or insulting you, i am giving my thoughts, as you asked for. My thoughts are not right or wrong, they are solely based on my opinion.

Bedojo,

No hard feelings at all, you cc was direct and tackful. I appriciate the info. Right now this really more for me. I am still learning new things everyday and have a corprate job. At some point I would like to make money on a part time basis as my current job is to good to quit. So for now this is my stress releaver until I get to the point where I think I am to the caliber to look for business. I looked at word press at one point and got frustrated and looked for a new alternative, but later in the year I will check it out again.

some themes can be confusing, the really well developed themes make it effort-less,
it took me a few hours to get a hang of how to work it but then it is easy.
