Experimenting with the 10D The best and easiest way to capture landscapes in difficult full cloudless sunlight situation is to shoot full manual and used average metering aim the spot to an area of interest and underexpose by 1/2 stop.

it works well and in photoshop you can recover the details using the Levels tool

Amazing the detail this lens can resolve and this is a shot at infinity and pretty far about several hundred feet. also notice the little clouds that exist are still visible and not burned out by this process.

did do some basic sharpening.
