Hey everyone,
I'm going to upgrade to a new DSLR from Canon... Probably the 600D or the 60D.

Now I want to sell my 1000D along with the 18-55mm non IS kit lens. The camera is in perfect state and still has a year of warranty left that includes all-risk insurance. Everything that came with the camera, I still have. It's 22 months old.

What would this be worth? In euros if possible, dollars are fine too.

If I can't find a buyer.. would it be worth adding my 55-250mm IS for an additional price? I kinda want to keep this one since I would like start videography.

You always get more money by selling lenses and bodies separately. I wish I could help you on Euro pricing, but I can say that a 1000D is worth about $300 in the US and the 18-55 is worth about $50.

Try having a look at ebay to see what they go for, I wouldn't expect much more than 200 euros and possibly less as they are around 380-400 euros new.

If you would sell the 18-55 and Rebel XS/1000D together, I say around $350-$380 in great condition.

i sold my xs a few months ago for $375 shipped and the 55-250 for $150 on craigslist (not that that would help you out of the states). sell them separately.

Check on the european ebay site. You can probably get an idea of the cameras worth there. I agree with a previous poster, you will get more if you sell the lens and body separately

Sell them together. Its the kit lens, and people looking at that entry level gear want something they can use right out of the box. If it were a longer lens, then sure break them up. Each local area has its own market pressures so what it sells for in the US is of little use other than a reference point.

60D is the way to go. You don't need another entry level DSLR, so 600d is a no go~!

I think you have a good point here.

So I went to the store today and tried out the 60D... and WOW it's amazing. I love the feel and look of the camera and the shutter sounds so nice. :P It's such an upgrade over my outdated 1000D. The 600D doesn't even feel like a competitor for the 60D anymore.

Second hand 1000Ds seem to go for about €250 including accessories, SD card and kit lens. Fair price, IMO.

My brother bought his XS with 18-55 2 years ago for $275 so it's relative to what people are willing to pay for it. (he bought it off a friend that needed money  )
