5D Mark II Hot shoe issue..

So i tried to fire some off camera flashes yesterday on my MKII and they would not fire a my triggers. I tried cyber syncs and pocket wizards. No go. Popped a 580 on the hot shoe fires no problem.

Any one ever come across this before. Canon CPS cant really help, becasue they have no way of testing with 3rd party equipment. So if a canon flash works on it they will just send it back...
