Sorry I've been out of the loop for about 2 years when it comes to flash photography but would like to get back at it. What are currently good radio triggers for firing strobes like the 580? And for a good price? In the past I used the ebay triggers with poor luck, but now that I have some extra funds I would like to purchase a good set. I really don't care for TTL though.

Cactus v5.

Uses convenient AAA batteries, has a locking foot, a whole bunch of channels, is reliable, and cheap for what it does.

Other options include rf-602 or the newer rf-603 (no locking foot, switches placed in am unconvenient location, etc but still very reliable).

For the last 18 months I've had great success with my RF-602 tx/rf. I use them with my Nissin Di866, 430EX, 430EXII and Nikon SB-28 flashes. I've never had a misfire, ever.

What problem did you have with your eBay triggers? What model(s) did you have problems with?
