The quick answer is I don't pose people as much as I put them in situations and let them be themselves. I think it is important to give SOME direction as e-sessions should be different than portrait sessions of a couple. To my mind anyway. In a portrait session, you might typically be just trying to get beautiful pictures of two people. In an e-session, my goal is to do that, but to capture that love connection between them at the same time. So the photos are more likely to be unposed (but not necessarily undirected), with them looking at each other, cuddling, kissing, connecting with each other instead of the camera and me. I see lots of e-sessions that are nice pics of a couple, but they are looking at the camera in each shot, not really showing the essence of their relationship with each other. That to me is the difference you should strive for in an e-session as opposed to a straight portrait session. Sue Cassidy
