Very nice! The only thing I'd change is to make sure that there's only one plate visible in each picture. But other than that, I like them. :)

I like the composition and DOF in #1 but I think the white balance is too warm on both of them - it gives the food an kind of an unappetizing yellowish tinge. You might try turning it down a bit. Also, I'd ditch the tomato rose in favor of some chopped herbs and shaved parmesan.

it is too warm, I agree, and the second one the carrots are OOF, the plating doesn't look too appetizing to me.

I would agree on the WB and removal of the additonal plates.

I would add that the shadows should be to the rear and softened a bit. I think your light is to the left/rear of the image and I think it might be better to have it to the front and slightly above. Some diffusion through a modifier or just some tissue paper could help soften the shadows.

By saying "warm" its not about the temperature. You want all the colors on the plate to be true to themselves, not blended together. You are trying to showcase the individual parts of the meal complementing each other,no?

I am no expert, but personally I feel the second picture might have looked better if it was taken in the same way as the first. The first one has the focus on the "main dish" and the bread which is "just plain bread" is a bit OOF and in the backround. Not that I don't like rice, but it is a bit boring when it comes to a picture in my opinion.

hahahah guys , obviosly its not about the temprature of the food its the colour temprature...

in saying that....it goes with the warm food....think about if it was a bit blue the food would LOOK cold....wile if your using a warm colour temp it warms the food up a bit no? to the human eye....so basically what im saying , is you would rather be a bit warm just to give the food a warmer feeling....please dont confuse what im saying with the warmth of the steak...im just saying a warmer (redder) steak looks better than a colder (bluer) steak!!!
