dang. heading out to Itasca to go camping on the 17th. we do up a pretty mean grill and picnic setup. oh well. I might submit a late entry anyway just to keep in the game. I've been out the last couple of challenges - but I still keep the camera handy

If it's a slowrunning challenge, much like the last one, I am willing to let ir ride....

Be patient. Usually entries come in closer to closing time. A lot of folks use the weekend to take the pictures.

And don't forget, unlike some of the other POTN contests where the previous week's winner is the sole judge the following week, you can still submit this week since judging is done by all.

All I want is just a little more than I'll ever have.

another thing Justin - a lot of the other competitions are for photos taken at any time. This one you have to go out and get a shot during a few days time. Sometimes it takes that long to get it!

I don't know if I will get one in. We haven't had picnic weather lately. It's either 100 degrees or about to rain.

Photomom2one: I did figure that, and I made a note that since it is so early in the season, picnics from 2010 would be ok...

The whole idea of the challenge was to go out and shoot new pictures... not to pick the best from the computer.

It is better to make the theme larger, than to make the time eternal. There is not so much challenge in searching through the folders in the computer... Rather have few unintersting pictures, and learn something new... Than be a challenge like most others.

Just use the fantasy. If the weather is bad, use Lego and build up a lego barbeque. Or take a shot from a grill filled with rain wather... or picture swimming gears, picknick bag, winebottles, meat prepared for barbeque, summer equipment, strawberries... the list can be made huge.

Living in Austria, I am so glad that there is stuff like Gimp out there...
I am a happy giver, so if you find any misspelling in my text, you can keep them... :)

Kent - I was thinking of some ideas along that line since it's too hot for a regular picnic...
