But it feels like a toy. I'm 6"5 and have huge hands. It's so uncomfortable to hold... I've considered selling the 40D and buying a t2i instead, but I'm not sure yet...

I started out with a gripped XTi and I just got a 60D last week. Man its like night and day. With the grip on the 60D it fits my hands nicely. The XTi even with the grip was still kinda small. I always had a finger or two with nowhere to be placed. And I'm loving the different buttons for the different functions unlike the Rebel where most everything was in a menu.

Coming from a Rebel I'm not qualified to look down my nose at the 60D, for me its a huge step up. I guess if I was coming from a xxD I could but it keeps from either staying pat or over reaching for the 7D...

Don't get me wrong guys - I'd ONLY would get a t2i for video. I'm disgusted by the ergonomics. I know my IQ won't really improve, but the t2i does have video, which I'd really, really want!

Now, I got a new problem: I need to sell either the 40D or 85mm. I can't justify having both and I need to go on holiday as well... What to do?! Or just get a loan (from the government, as a student you can loan very cheaply) and pay back when I get my salary? Tempting... I've thought about it a lot last night but I don't want to let go either: I love the 40D, but I love the 85mm as well: the super fast, noiseless AF and focal length are the best!

Are you really really sure you want video? There are some nice video cameras available at very reasonable prices. They are also much easier to shoot video than on a DSLR. I hardly ever use the video on my camera.

Congrats on the package. I think you should keep the stuff you got for a while to decide what you want and what you don't want. Your deal will not be so great if you need to repurchase some of the items that you hastily sold.

600€ for all that stuff? It's an amazing deal. I could sell the items individually for 850€ easily. I've already sold of the B+W filters (as I explained, I'll never get a 77mm filter-thread camera.), which generated a nice 135€. That leaves 465€ for the body, lens, bag and CF-card.
Lens (275€)+ body (375€)+ bag (60€) + CF-card (30€) = 740€. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
I've been thinking about selling the bag as I already have one, but I quite like it. I probably just get a small loan... I'd hate to see either the 85mm or 40D go.

Of course I'd like to keep the lens and camera, but I have 40€ to spend for the coming two weeks and I also need to go on vacation...

sell the bag, cf card, and your old 20D. it's hard to go back to a 20D after using the 40D. i upgraded from an XT to a 40D and I can't imagine going back. why can't you sell your older stuff and keep the new stuff?

7D. You will love the camera. Pair one of the 70-200's with it when you can.

My older stuff will get me something back, but not nearly enough I'm afraid. Piss it, it's just money, eh? I'll be a lot happier with the gear than some numbers sitting in my bank account!

Nice deal man. Try using everything for a few weeks before you consider selling anything.

I know I should, but I need to pay my upcoming vacations shortly... Meh!

A bit of both actually. I wasn't planning on keeping the 40D, just wanted to keep the 85mm, but I just CAN'T part with the 40D... Every moment I love it more...

Get the battery grip. T3i is a bit small in my hands but with the grip on, feels a lot better.

A grip would help, but first of all I'm not a fan of grips, they're so bulky. And second, it's not about the 'vertical' size of the camera; it's mostly the depth. And I don't like how it handles. I love my wheel and joystick. I'd hate to have to swap that for those clumsy buttons...
