I once had a problem with this sort of thing on a Tamron 17-35 2.8-4. A temporary solution was to use gaff tape as a spacer (not sure if what you guys have got is this loose). It eventually wore down and came apart though, so not a permanent solution.

My 35L's hood was just the opposite, it took some time for it to screw on just right.

It is possible to gently warm the plastic in the bayonet portion of the hood and squeeze it with a pair of pliers to tighten it. You have to do this very carefully and just a little at a time, to not get it too tight.

Alternatively, put a piece of tape in the bayonet... either electricians tape or gaffer tape would probably be best. That's more temporary... will wear or come off and need to be redone occasionally.

Yet another alternative is to carefully put a few tiny drops or a thin wipe of epoxy on the bayonet portion of the hood, to build up it's thickness. This will likely wear off too. There are epoxies made specifically for plastics. I haven't tried it, but model building cement (Testors) that "melts" plastic might work, too. Or a few carefully placed, small drops of "super glue".

A hood that's too tight, try rubbng a candle on the bayonet area. A little bit of parrafin from the candle will lubricate it and make it easier to install or remove. Parrafin isn't sticky and won't attract dirt too much. You have to be careful to keep it off the optics, of course.
