For the main shot posted, i had a flash in a matte box to the right of subject to illuminate the background. and a flash to the left of subject in a soft box light up subject as well as lightly illuminate the logs. RPCrowe Cream of the Crop More info | I think that these portraits would have been more appropriate if done of a twelve year old. This looks like a semi-adult who is trying to play soldier. See my images at http://rpcrowe.smugmug.com/

But a little boy would be great! :] Nikon D5000 / Sigma 30mm 1.4 / 50mm manual 1.4

This is my first time ever using flash in any of my pictures, majority of the time i use either natural lighting or house lamps. So i posted these photos on here to see how well i did. :] Nikon D5000 / Sigma 30mm 1.4 / 50mm manual 1.4

Jun 08, 2011 22:31 | #13 I like them. And I agree with RPCrowe, get a younger subject to really make these stand out. My only nitpick is on the trigger finger. Trigger control, finger stays out of trigger guard until ready to fire. (Safety first!) Dan
