I think these are thread-waisted wasps. I've never seen them before.

I didn't even initially realize there were 2 of them in the first two shots. But I laughed at that 3rd shot. Sheesh, man. Go get your own plant! Also it looks like somebody slid a mirror between the 2 wasps in the bottom right of picture 3 =p

Nice work! Did you use a macro lens for 1 & 2?

Yes. I used a Marumi DHG 200 +5. #3 was quite a surprise when I saw it too. These things were tiny like around 10mm or so.

What will we do if the others find us?

There seems to be a nest in my backyard somewhere. Can't really hate on them since they're clearing the weeds lol =)

Nice shots,we should have a G series macro close up thread keep them all in one place for easier viewing,would be great for browsing & talking technique.

I think this would be a good idea as there seems to be a growing enthusiasm for this type of photography with the G. Go ahead and start it, I will drag some of the ones I have posted lately in there.
