I recently scored a deal on a V1 system on ebay. Unit came as described, I hooked it up and started charging it. Initially it started doing the flashing light on the charger, as per Paul C Buff's manual indicated it was near full charge. So I let it sit for a few hours. I started to notice a pattern. It would flash the same number of times and then go static red. But the number of flashes seemed to change over time. At first it was about 5. Then last night before I went to go use it I unplugged it from the charger at 9 green/yellow flashes between reds. I assumed it was showing power level in 10% increments.

So after using it last night with no issues (powering 2 b800s for a a solid 2-3hrs) I hooked it back up to the charger over night. I woke up this morning and counted 18 flashes between reds??

Is this normal? I haven't been able to locate anything in the owners manual about this other than the unit is supposed to fully charge in 5 hours and if it doesn't go to green after that it may be damaged. I got home at about 2am and plugged it in, and just noticed the new 18 flashes at around 7:30am.

Any insight?

Battery could be on its last legs.
If they(batteries) aren't kept topped up they will sulfate and lose the ability to keep a charge.
Trot on over to the PCB forums and ask them there, or call them up, they are quite friendly.
