I've been working in the industry (slowly getting more and more work) since I was about 15. It started with one job every 6 months, and has turned, over the last 5 years, into a few jobs a week. When I now look back at the stuff I was shooting when I was 18 (i'm 20 now), i'd say it was absolute crap and can't believe somebody paid for it. If I look back on where i'm at today, in 2 years time, i'm sure i'll be saying the same thing. The lesson this has taught me is to just bloody go for it. You'll look back in 2 years and think you were ****, but when it comes down to it, the best time to get started is as early as possible. If I hadn't done all the crap back then, then i'd be having to go through it now. I say get started in the industry as early as possible, so that in 5 years you're doing well, as apposed to just 'getting there'.
Remember mate, it all takes time.
