I am by no means a professional, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt
First off, great work on getting different shoots together and taking the time to create a portfolio! The capture of the subjects is there, but a few things that came in to my mind:
- Flare: use a little more sparingly. Sometimes the hazy look it imparts comes between me and the subject.
- Depth of field: again, more sparing use. I'd want to get more background/environment in the shot, tell a story. For me, DOF is like chocolate: a little is delicious and sweet, but too much and even chocolate loses it's charm.
You have some great shots in there, and after just ~6 mos of shooting, man, I am impressed! I especially like the dark trainyard shot. Keep up the good work!
