I know the Kenko worked OK with the non I.S. 100 macro but was wondering if anyone has tried the Kenko Teleplus PRO 300 DGX 1.4x with the Canon 100/2.8 Macro L I.S. Does it work OK, are there any issues with the AF or I.S. with this combo. Thanks for any feedback.

IS works.
AF a little slower, especially when set to full, not as much when .5 - infinity
IQ drop is no different than when putting on other lenses

I believe that like the 70-200 F/4 IS there were some issues with early Kenko DGX teleconverters. So make sure you get one with the green or blue dot (the latest version, I doubt many of the original red dot ones are around anymore) and it should be fine.

What are you using it for? As a longer non-macro lens, for extra magnification, or greater working distance?

When I had a Kenko 1.4X DG, the AF didn't work with the 100 L.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It looks like the 1.4x DGX works OK then as long as it is one of the latest ones.

Just for a greater working distance at times. I used a Kenko pro 1.4x on my non I.S. 100 a few years ago and it worked well, but got rid of it.
