Yep, I've heard the same..! I bought my EX DG for about ~$400 used.. I don't think I'd pay ~$900 for an HSM though.. At that point I'd take a used, known sharp 24-70L over a new HSM. Some people may not like the idea of used stuff though, which I can certainly understand.

It's about $750ish used, I think.

What are your thoughts on the new sigma 24-70 compared to the canon?

Used both and went with the Sigma for its superior center performance and compact size.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

I've only had my Sigma 24-70HSM for a few days but I'm loving it. I have briefly used the Canon one and when looking at the pics I took with that vs my Sigma, it's hard to see any real advantage in either. I wish I had take then same pics with both to really compare though.

Sigma 24-70 HSM was my last zoom lens before I became a full time prime shooter. I really liked this lens, and it deliverd many great shots!

Before I bought it, I tested it vs the 24-70L. I liked the Sigma better.

I'm about to be just like you. Love my 24-70HSM and about to replace it with a 35L.
