I posted a couple of pics and when i went in and read the exif data for the pictures, there was a name other than mine shown as the photographer. I shot the pictures using a 5dc that I purchased used, is there a way of putting your name in the camera to associate with your pictures?

You have to use the EOS Utility to do that. maybe you bought a second hand since it is a 5Dc, or someone hacked your camera

I did some research and see that I have to use the utility, only problem is, I cant find my cd for the utility. Any ideas as to where i can get the program? Canon requires and installed version in order to install updated version. :(

Other than to see if you can order it from Canon, I dunno, I heard there is a registry hack, but I can't go into details on this site....remember it is a canon site

There are two ways to solve this problem.

You can call your local Canon facility and ask them to mail you a copy of the original CD.
Most likely they are not going to charge you any money for that.

Alternatively, if you're using Windows, you can edit the Registry on your computer.
Open Notepad and copy this text:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\DPP]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\ZoomBrowser EX]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOS Capture]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\EOSViewerUtility]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Canon\PhotoStitch]

Save file and rename it to canon.reg
Double click on the file and answer Yes on prompt.
After that, download update software from Canon site and install it as it was the full version.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Canon have desupported the original 5D in the latest version. You need to download an older version.

Well, no. POTN has no affiliation with Canon, except to be a popular Canon users site where owners of other cameras are welcome.

Restart your computer after the registry update and try again.

Hang on, the registery fixes are for Windows 32 bit and the file has to be saved as a .reg file.

Got to this site for more complete explanations:
