If you had $10,000 to spend on equipment, what would you buy?

I am entertaining the idea of getting my pilot's license which costs about 10k... Just thinking about all the amazing stuff I would buy.

Also assume you own zero photography equipment. 10k and you have nothing.

Get your ticket. Less than 1% of the population are pilots. Everyone's a photographer nowadays.

If you really want to suffer, get your ticket and then punch out of a 25-year non-photography career to pursue photography full time. :(

I was responding to the OPs dilemma regarding getting his pilots license.

Those who don't fly or don't care to can't honestly appreciate the issue, sorry.

I'd buy a Powershot D10 and a ticket to South Africa. I'd use whatever is left after buying my $200 camera and airplane ticket to tour Namibia and take some pictures.

$10K isn't anywhere near enough.
