Some shots I took while wandering the yard yesterday and today. 50D, 100mm IS L macro, 550EX on-camera with Sto-Fen...

Good series of shots.
Subjects are slightly centered in the shots. Try giving them more room in the frame in the direction they are looking- tends to give a more pleasing composition.

Thanks everyone. I'm generally a "subject in the middle" type of guy, but I'll go over some of these and see how they look the way you recommend. Since it was LordV who said it there must be some truth to it, he's basically the King of macro as far as I'm concerned.


Sure, there's a lot of people who get great macro shots, but him...I think it's time to toss the macro lens and take up knitting, there's no way my best shots would compare to his crappiest.
