Bit of a dilemma here guys, cant make up my mind whether to sell my 70-200 f2.8L is usm and get the MK2 version or get the 135L f2 ? What do you thinks my best option? I do quite a lot of studio and sports photography.

Why do you want to upgrade your current lens, and why do you want to add the 135L?

Well it kinda depends on your 70-200 usage.
Are you using it most of the time around the 135mm?

Why don't you do a count on the Focal Lengths you use. If you hardly go > 135mm then stick to a 135L. Since you mentioned you do sports, having a 1.4X with your 135L will give you reach similar to the 70-200 for a fraction of the cost.

I wouldn't do that. If you want to try a 135L, rent one, give it a good test drive and if you still want one save and buy it. Keep your 70-200, you'll regret selling it.

Try taping your 70-200mm at 135mm and spend a day shooting..

I was either going to sell my MK1 version and buy the MK2 OR keep my MK1 and buy a 135L for the bokeh (portraiture) as well, I couldn't live without a70-200!!

I agree and after i acquired the versatile & stellar 70-200MKII the 135L without IS definitely became obsolete for my style of shooting. The lighter combo alternative the Canon 100/f2.8 HIS USM macro provides would be the only lens i might consider pairing with the MKII for the times i want to pack light using the gripped 5D MKII or crop bodies.

Regards, ;)
