Nice shots! What AF mode did you use?


Canon 1D MKIV, 1D MKIII, Canon 70-200 f2.8, Canon 400 f2.8, Canon 16-35mm f2.8.

Thanks figo...back button focus were used, center using a 300Lf4is with 1.4xII handheld. Got some more of the lifeguards...

Cool shots!

I would try to avoid shooting surfers with their backs to the camera. The water color needs a bit of work in post too.

If you like shooting with other surf photographers, you should check out venice surf photographers (external link). It's a good group, and they shoot in the OC area a lot.
