In a recent Lisbon trip I took with my Canon S95 some Raw photos for what I've considered to be some difficult shots for later editing. At home I couldn't open them with DPP or Photoshop camera raw. I can see them on camera, and also on PC with Irfanview where the info is they have only 1600/1200 pixels, and I can convert them to jpg only with Irfanview. I can't understand what is happening (the rest of the jpg of the same trip are fine, but the CR2 are some beautiful night shots and some from Sintra palace so I wish to recover them if possible). Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Are these the only RAW photos you've ever taken with the S95? What Irfanview is showing you (and what the camera is, too) is the JPEG embedded in the RAW. That's why it's only 1600x1200. Did you update your DPP with the version that shipped with the S95? The 40D came out earlier and software that supports 40D RAW won't necessarily support S95 RAW.

Yes, make sure DPP is updated to a recent version.

Also, adobe camera raw(photoshop) needs to be at least version 6.3 to support the S95

Yes, I used the DPP software that came with the camera (I had installed it on another laptop), but it didn't see also the CR2 files, and cannot edit them, only it gives me access to informations about them. Indeed the Photoshop CS3 I have has not the latest camera raw. The CR2 file size is about 12Mb, so you are right, it must be larger than 1600x1200. I will try to update the DPP and camera raw and see. Thank you for the replies!
