Hello!

It certainly has been awhile since I last posted here. Earlier today, I was shooting on my 20D, and while trying to adjust the aperture in Manual mode, I discovered that the wheel doesn't work. I figured it was the lens, so I switched from the 24-70 to the 17-85 is... Same thing. It works for scrolling through images in the playback mode, but it won't work to adjust the aperture. Also, the wheel is in the unlocked mode, so we can rule that out.
Anyone have any possible solutions. It is an extremely low counted camera, with most use coming from me after being given it as a gift from a parent.

Turn Power switch all the way up, to / mark and try again.

What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

Try adjusting exposure compensation in Av or Tv mode. If the problem is in the power switch (where it disables the wheel in the first position), then exposure comp won't work either.

I think a trip to Canon will be required for this camera.

It's working in TV and AV mode... the top wheel works perfectly... Time to send it in then. The wheel works for exposure comp as well. This is weird. Very weird. Also, it works to adjust ISO, WB... this is very weird, coming from something so lightly used, and

Hi.
I had this problem on a 5D MkII, my problem was the battery grip scroll wheel was stuck between notches. Not sure if you have a grip or not but that is what my problem was.
Just unmount the grip and then re-attach again, worked for me.

Mine isn't gripped, and my problem is with the wheel on the back of the camera.

Edit-UPDATE-I had selected the AF point selection control to be reassigned to the thumb wheel in the c.Fn menu. Derp on my part. Many thanks to those who helped!

I have done similar things. We all do. Glad it worked out.
