Gimp 2.7 upgrade?

Maybe its my search terms so i cant find it, but using windows xp how do you upgrade from an earlier version to a newer version?

There no official upgrade yet . All 2.7x versions out there are just a snapshot of the code at time of compile . next stable version will be 2.8 and thats months off .

check here for news and in the forum as some of developers are there .

I've found that when you do upgrade GIMP, it is best to completely uninstall the old version, then install the new version.

As stated, the 2.7 releases are development releases that are in testing. The next stable release will be 2.8.
