Hi folks,

My missus wants to treat our boy to either a 60D or a 600D.

I can see the usual suspects like Jessops, Currys and Dixons are really expensive.

So can anyone recommend me a few very reputable online shops that do these for good prices. Really after decent prices coupled with good customer service too.

Would really appreciate your help with this.

Thanks very much in advance

most people use this site and check amazon sometimes they do silly prices but beware if it says long delivery time as they sometimes do that then cancel the order due to supplier problems

I'm looking to get a 550D at the moment, possibly tomorrow, and like yourself want a cheap price, obviously coupled with great customer service, and prompt delivery, etc. etc.

You have two choices really, shop around for the best deal from the respected suppliers, ie, Jessops, John Lewis, Park Cameras, etc. or try your luck for a cheap deal on ebay!!!!
Like in my business, I produce postcards and business cards for photographers, you either get, superb quality and great customer service, or you get cheap crap!!!

I don't provide cheap crap to my customers so I am not going to buy cheap crap then complain when the service is crap, etc.

Quite possibly due to the problems in Japan prices are fluctuating wildly, the 500D at Jessops has ranged from £579.00 up to £639.00 in the past few weeks. I was speaking to a member of staff in Jessops yesterday and he told me that stock seems to getting back to normal so perhaps prices will soon settle down. Right now the best price, outside of ebay and Kiss imports I can find for the 550D is £585.00 from Park Cameras.

Just ordered my 60D from Bristol cameras and delivered very prompty. I usually use Warehouse Express but they were out of stock.

Kerso has the 60d for £699, all his bodies have USA warranties valid in uk with invoice provided. These are brand new btw, he's a great dealer got some real cheap stuff of him and he's legit.

Just email him at kerso1123(at)msn.com

i have bought a bunch of stuff from simplyelectronics. they are not fast but they are cheap and the goods do arrive eventually - typically about 2 weeks after the order is placed.

Sorry but this doesn't really make sense to me. How is a 550D going to be different from a "respectable" dealer compared to one from a not so mainstream dealer? They're both still going to be the same camera. The only difference may be the level of service, but that has no impact at all on the quality of the product...

Service AND product quality are what I was referring to. And then you have to remember that here in the UK a Canon 550D, whilst the same product essentially as a Canon Kiss X4 or Rebel T2i, warranties, plugs, etc. might not quite be what you expect.

What I was getting at was the OP wanted great after sales service AND a really cheap price, often you have to sacrifice one for the other. Yes you can get a good deal from a reputed supplier offering great service as well, but when you find a really great cheap deal, it might not come with the great service.
