A bunch of Babies...these were really small. Maybe 1 mm each. I failed to capture them in a creative manner, but they are kind of cool.

Many thanks for the kind comments, it was an interesting shoot and glass was only involved where and when necessary - but it did not restrict access, just stopped some of the little dears running away. I have been having some problems with a new PC, things that had worked for years suddenly stopped working and the system now seems prone to stopping dead, so there is a conflict somewhere, but I suppose who am I too complain that is what they call progress - back to some more pics, it was a grand shoot, I did not expect to enjoy it quite so much, getting unrestricted access was just awesome and I could get as close as I wanted!!!

1 - sometimes you did get a bit too close...

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3194.jpg

2 Now this was close - but then again it was really rather big - Madagascan Dumeril’s Boa

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3784.jpg

3 - he even made the grass look small

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3767.jpg

4 - not sure what this was, but it had an interesting jaw arrangement...

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3623.jpg

5 same snake, side view

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3630.jpg

6 not sure how this one missed the first cut Bearded Dragon

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3422.jpg

7 Amazing colours and character

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3426.jpg

8 But of all the reptiles thsi was possibly my favourite, great character and almost expressions, totally fearless and just posed... Crested Gecko

Thanks for the answer on that one, that was the name which was mentioned but it slipped my mind - A couple more...

Black Pine Snake...

Indian Sand Boa - this was really strange and totally different...

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3663.jpg

I think this one was a Corn Snake

IMAGE: http://www.jfbclick.com/images/11-Dartmoor%20Reptiles%20Small/IMG_3549.jpg

Final one, Emperor Scorpion - reminded me of a lobster, very weird up close!!!

Try a different question then. Do you shoot hand held or on a tripod and manual focus or auto focus?

I shoot handheld in amongst the flowers, but will use a monopod if I can,all handheld shots on here so far,I use auto focus Dai,and if the subject is liable to fly I set it in continuos shooting just in case .

G11; it was windy today, so interesting result. I used AF Tracking and the bug stayed fairly sharp, while the flower got blurred. The insect is about the size of medium ant.

So far in this wonderfully young thread full of great shots with this awesome little camera, my favorite is John's crested Gecko. That shot is as good as it gets. What fun. I need to get back out there.
