All seven passengers made it out, but it's a shame to lose such a priceless aircraft.

Wow! A great loss to the Warbird community. Thank God every one got out safe.

Sad...I saw a news blurb this morning, but hadn't heard it was the Belle :( Glad to hear those on-boad all walked, though!

Sad day that one of these grand lovely birds is lost. Grateful that no one is hurt. I'm glad I've been able to tour the inside of a couple of them.

She died with her boots on, not just sitting around gathering dust.

This is terrible news! That was a beautiful plane and another key piece of history lost forever.

Edit: Here she is the last time we saw her. August of 2010.

What an unfortunate event. I'd say the crew were extremely lucky, but all in all it's not something you like to see happen to a valued piece of history. It's always risky flying them vs just putting them on static display, but I really think there's far more to be gained interest wise doing what they were. Seeing & hearing something like it in the air stays with you a lot longer than seeing it in a hanger or on the tarmack.

A skill is developed through constant practice with a passion to improve, not bought.

Sad news indeed. Saw her for a first time less than a month ago. Amazing bit of history, now lost.
