Hey guys,

I have some problems when at party's or nightclubs to focus on my subject because there is not much light available. The flash I have know (Yongnuo YN460) does not beam assist or communicate with the camera.

I was wondering if the Sigma EF500 DG shots a series of flashes when focusing to help the camera focus on the object. (AF beam assist)

Camera is a 500D with a 18-55mm.

Thank you !:)

I have that on a 300D, I've not had any problems in the dark, the AF assist works a treat

The Sigma EF-500 DG Super has a focus assist light - Not quite as nice as the 580EX II but it works fine if you stick with center AF point.

The Sigma is a good flash unit, not a great flash unit. Perfectly adequate for amateur use.
