Island Hopping

Anyone here did island hopping while in Hawaii? We're going to the big island and would like to spend a day in Oahu. Any idea as to how much it costs? Thanks...

My wife and I have done that several times, it fun.
Cost is going to depend on what you want to do. Just one day, staying a few days, car rental, experiences, etc. Many different choices, so without more detail it is really hard to guesstimate.
Decide what you want to do, and arrange it on line so your costs are known up front.
Just for the day from the Hawaii you would hop on the bus (Hawaiian Airways) a 737 with no reserved seating. Costs are low but the service is good. Take the wiki-wiki from the airport to the waterfront tourist area and enjoy the beach, or wander up to Diamond Head or where-ever you want. Car rental and parking are expensive there unless you find a deal. Catch the bus back. Depending on where you're staying on Hawaii, transportation from the airport can be a pain. Not so bad in Hilo, but Kona can be really difficult.
Island hopping style where you stay a few days on each spot is good. On one trip we did Kauai, Maui and Big Island Kona with the major time in Kona.
Another trip we just kept is simple and did two islands, with another stay in Kona, our favorite spot so far.

We're thinking about going back this winter, may have to look for that to try it out! I am adventuristic, besides all my drugs from the Africa trip will still probably be good .

I've spent alot of the last few winters in Hawaii and when I am going for just sun and fun I go to Oahu but the big island is still my favorite. I'm not sure you would be asking a photo forum how much it is to fly inter island as that is all available on the net. Hawaiian Airlines gives pretty good service and I've flown their first class which is nothing to write home about but at least there is more room than there is in the back of the bus.

I looked up "island hopping" but couldn't find any definitive answers. I just wanted to get a rough idea of how much it would cost for transportation and such. Thanks for all the comments though!
