I have not posted anything since January, few opportunities to shoot birds lately.
Yesterday I decided to give it a try, despite the overcast sky and the poor light that had me shoot at 800 and later 1600 ISO.

Thanks for watching. C&C welcome.

A male Cardinal in an environment I have looked for for a long time. Not so bad considering I had to go up to 1600 ISO and only 1/200 sec @ f/8 (f/8 needed with the Sigma 150-500). Now I need to shoot the female in the same position.

Another Cardinal, or the same, in a setup I have tried to obtain for a long time. This one short earlier, @ ISO 800 and 1/100 sec

Red Bellied Woodpecker, anxious to get to the peanuts feeder - but he did not like the shutter noise of the 5D MKII.
I am intrigued by that kinda wet spot on his head - at 1:1 it almost seems like he is bleeding; any idea?

A pretty bad picture of Papa Downy approaching his son to feed him, mostly shown for documentary purpose. Pic was pretty dark, is not so sharp since shot at 1/100 sec. Only the raw file and Lightroom allow to get something out of it.
Unfortunately, I made a mess of the pic where the father actually feeds the fledgling. Oh well.
