Also, if you bought the legs and ball head *with* quick release, find out if it doesn't also come with the plate! It might!

Hi! I'm a newbie! But I doubt it's a secret...

All Manfrotto heads with their quick-release systems come with a quick-release plate.

The reason someone would want extras is so that every camera and lens that could be mounted to the tripod head can permanently wear a QR plate. THAT is now the "quick" in "quick-release" (actually, it should be "quick change") works.

There is only one quick release plate that you can use. Go back up to post #22 and click on the link that I provided for you there. Of course, there are many vendors that sell that part, but you can see what you need there.

Thanks!

fvsurfer, may I ask how much you paid for the combo? I'm Canada so the deal and rebates in the US don't apply, but there are plenty of shops here; just want to get an idea how much it can cost.

I didn't buy a combo but the total in US dollars was $268.02.

I don't think my orders came with a plate.

You're right. I must have somehow misread my order. I ordered a Manfrotto 498RC2 Ball Head.
