A fishing dhow returns to harbour at sunset.

Taken in Stone Town, Zanzibar.

Three blended images via a Canon 500L, exposed for the sun (with solid ND filter), sky (without ND filter) and foreground (several seconds later, when the boat moves into the field of view).

Great image! I think it probably is "as seen", it's just the camera wouldn't be able to do all that exposing without multiple images. At least not nearly as well.

Not until someone invents a sensor capable of capturing 25 stops of DR, with no lens flare, anyway...

A perfect capture with terrific exposure blending! It is so wonderful when the sun or moon is low on the horizon and the scale of those awesome heavenly bodies can be juxtaposed against earthly things. And I really love the how the vertical sails are woven against the horizontal background clouds; it's just a brilliant composition! Congratulations.
