I filmed and edited this video, is there anything I can do better? I think the lights from the front were a little intense, but besides that what should I work on?

Video's good. The lighting setup caused to many shadows I think, and there was some camera shake during the bass players close ups, not sure if you went handheld for those shots, but their not moving so you should have used a tripod. Skin color seems off, but I think mostly due to the lighting, but some color correction could help.

That's all I could see but I'm no expert, maybe someone else can provide more help.

Good job!

I used a 35mm F/2.
The close up shots were hand held, yes. I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

Could use a bit of work in color correction. What editing software are you using? You might want to watch this 3-part on correction: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnP5wlYEfYg (external link) -- it's in FCP but the principles are the same, the main point is first to get all of your shots consistent with each other, and then get them all neutral so that you can do whatever artistic grading you want.

You might also consider using Smoothcam or similar on the handheld shots, just to make the amount of motion consistent. Or not, it's not that bad tbh.

For next time, don't be afraid to get closer! Your shots are mostly hanging out around a medium or medium-wide. Mixing in a few close shots would add some contrast for you. Another thing you might consider is shooting from different heights -- for the most part, your shots are right at eye level (save for one shot of the drummer toward the end) -- some upward-facing shots can make the band seem "larger than life" or also seem like they're up on a stage.

Does an electric bass still count as an acoustic set?

I used iMovie for this one because it's pretty cut & dry. Thought about color correcting in Color or AE but I'm not quite sure where to start.

I'll consider shooting from different heights also, I never really thought of that! Thanks :_)

Lighting more than anything. Some colored gels could have helped too.

No bragging list - I just rent whatever the job requires.
