What a BEAUTIFUL sky today, so had to run out on lunch and snap a few pictures. I had just washed the car the night before (and it's been hibernating in the garage for the past few month or so) so what a better time for some 'nooners'?

I've had this car coming up on 2 years and roughly have only put 7,000 miles or so on it. I live very close from work, and if it's raining or snowing (which feels like everyday) I'm driving the winter beater (audi a4 2.8L quattro at the moment) or the bike when it's super hot (cbr 929rr) so this thing hardly gets any miles on it. I will tell you, that when I do get to drive it, it is pure joy!

I stopped by my friends at Enthusiast Auto ( www.enthusiastauto.com (external link) ) and we talked about the market value of the e39 m5 and how it's raised...but after sitting down and thinking about, there's not another car that i'd want to drive. Luxury, 400hp, dvd nav, superb handling, great audio, 6spd, 4doors, awesome brakes, doesn't attrack too much attention, I could go on and on...

ANYWAY : photography wise I was simply testing out wide angles as I'm in the market for a new one. Today I tested the Canon 15mm f2.8 and the Canon 17-40 F4 on my 5dmk2. I've had the 17-40 (actually i was shooting MY previous model that I sold) but since I had 1.3x and 1.6x crop cameras it felt a bit different. I really WANTED to like the 15mm, but it may be a bit wide for my liking...Plus I don't like the fact that it doesn't have filter threads (which scares me) and the Lens Cap kinda feels loose in my bag. I may end up with the 17-40 as I just sold my Tokina 12-24 as it only worked from 16mm-24mm on full frame.

OK Enough talk, enjoy the pictures! (and enough with the parenthesis, sheesh!) any questions please ask. Any opinions on the 15mm or 17-40 or any other wide angle please share!! (ps if you feel like commenting on my flickr pictures i'm totally ok with that too! :) )

That is a great sky! I keep a file of them for backgrounds for when we have 'normal' gray skies up here.

That's an amazing sky. I've always been a fan of that M5. It makes me think of the bmwfilms movie with Clive Owen and Madonna.

The angles used in first few shots are a bit much, IMO. I think my favorites are 5 and 6.

I whole-heartedly agree with your sentiments on that car. They really are fantastic vehicles. The only car that can top it (with similar attributes), and some people would disagree with me on this one, is the E60 M5.
