Im trying to expand my photographic horizons, so Im picking up landscapes. I feel like this shot is missing something, but Im not sure what. Thoughts?

20D, 18-55IS no filters (for now)

I think the only thing missing is maybe something out on the water somewhere, like a sailboat. Other than that this a really great photo. I love the formation of those rocks.

Quite like the shot and I like the detail in the foreground. Not sure about the exposure on the far bank though. It's very dark and I find it a bit distracting. Could maybe do with a bit of dodging in photoshop?

I like it. I also agree about the far bank. Maybe a personal thing, but I think the piece of wood is more of a distraction IMHO

Hi. I'd crop to the horizon and lose that dark band. Perhaps try and bring some detail out of the foreground rocks, they are a bit dark. What spoils it for me is that stick of wood. Its completely out of place and spoils the 'mood' of the picture. Also, perhaps a slower shutter speed to smooth the water more?

I see what you guys mean about the far shore, I dont know how I missed blending that (multiple exposures). I agree about the wood, I wasnt happy with it... I didnt really see it when I was shooting for some reason :rolleyes:
