I don't have either but i would go with 35L because 24mm would be too wide on a FF for my taste.
IMO, you can simply backup from your subject a little to get the 24mm focal range and it is also closer towards 50mm "normal" focal range.

I've tried zoom Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 on 7D and at 17mm on 1.6 crop, it is equivalent to 27.2mm on FF.

and i felt that 27mm is plenty wide and mainly shot zooming in, thus closer to 35mm focal range.

24mm because it's wider. Fits my needs.

I prefer the 400mm f/2.8 ... but focal length requirements are determined by the shots you want to get and not what other photogs prefer.

Maybe rent both and see which you personally prefer? They're both superb.

Edit: For clarity, I don't own a 400 f/2.8 ... but I still prefer it =P

I landed on the 35L, and will rent the 24L when needed :-)

24mm love it.

I have the 35mm, but I find its too close to my 50mm (my most used lens) and 24mm is a logical step for me.

Since getting my 24mm my 35mm has not been used once. Thinking of selling it

I told myself I will never need an L lens, that all changed when I rented a 24L.. and almost everything that came out of that lens was a keeper. Wide enough in most tight spaces. Not so wide that people look really funny. Nice shallow depth of field. Really great for nightlife photography I do. Great for available-light with film. I pulled to trigger on it recently and I hope I can use it enough to justify the $1500 I spent on it. It has a centain "look" to it that you can't get any other way.

Also I have a fuji X100 to cover 35mm :P

I bought my 35L before the holidays with the desire to take shots without flash so Christmas lights would show up. In that situation it worked very well and I don't think I would want anything wider. That is a specific case. To make your decision you need to analyze your own specific case. I do plan to purchase a 24 at some point for extra wide landscapes and nighttime city shots.

... (or look through shots you already have from it) to find out what suits you better. ...

This is probably the best advice. Gather up your favorite shots taken with a zoom and see what length you use most.
